MTBMA is proud to continue our commitment to advocating for safer work zones for the dedicated men and women in our industry. As part of our ongoing efforts, we are pleased to announce our collaboration with MDOT SHA on a significant and visually impactful Unity Ride during the upcoming Work Zone Safety Awareness Week, which is scheduled to commence on April 15th, 2024.
NWZAW 2024, hosted by MDOT, is April 15-19, highlighting the dangers of inattention in work areas. The week includes:

Work Zone Safety Training Day | April 15

MDOT Press Conference (kickoff event) & Unity Ride | April 16

Go Orange Day | April 17

Social Media Storm | April 18

Moment of Silence | April 19, honoring lives lost in work zone incidents.
The Unity Ride on April 16th will start mid-morning. Tentative details are listed below:

One-way trip expected to take an hour.

Please note that participation in this event is exclusive to marked single unit work vehicles. For the intended impact, personal vehicles and compact cars will not be permitted during the ride.

Meeting location will be in Glen Burnie, MD. Specifics will be released to those who sign up for the ride.

Safety briefing at 11:15 am by CHART and MSP. Ride starts at 11:45 am, ending at Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium.
