Learn how to work cooperatively with local media to promote your company, your projects, and the asphalt industry. At this micro session, you’ll hear from both industry and public relations experts on how to cultivate media relations that can improve community standing and public support.

2017 Paving for Performance: Designed to Perform Conference
October 11-13, 2017
JW Marriott Buckhead – Atlanta, GA

Balanced Mix Design and Performance-Related Specifications

For every product, performance begins with design — asphalt pavement mixtures are no different. Currently, most U.S. asphalt mix designs are governed by volumetrics, but changes are coming. Designers and agencies are now discussing “balanced mix design” and “performance-related specifications,” which incorporate performance testing into the mix design procedure.

Come learn the basics of asphalt mix design, and then be challenged by national experts with next-generation mix design methodologies that truly focus on mixture performance. It may seem that these design innovations are years away from being enacted, but participants will also here from peers about how some companies already use performance tests in the design phase to ensure mix quality.
