MTBMA would like to announce their Hall of Leadership awardee for 2018, James A. Russ. James A. Russ, MTBMA’s President of 9 years, has been selected for his outstanding service and commitment to furthering the cause of better transportation construction and materials in Maryland. Before his tenure with MTBMA, Jim has served in management positions in the construction materials industry for over 40 years in both public (Lonestar Industries, Bardon/Aggregate Industries and Essroc Cement Corp.) and private companies (Buffalo Sand & Gravel, Washington Materials, Howat Concrete and Boston Sand & Gravel), operating in three major east coast markets – Virginia, Greater Baltimore Washington area and Massachusetts. Along his journey, Jim has been very active in industry, political and community activities, holding numerous Board positions. Jim was a registered lobbyist in Maryland and has been a strong coalition builder working with the Maryland Chamber, Southern Maryland Transportation Alliance, Greater Baltimore Committee, Associated Builders & Contractors, and Associated General Contractors to advance the infrastructure needs of Maryland.
