Maryland-certified Small Business Reserve (SBR) contractors sought to provide on-call labor, equipment and materials necessary to perform miscellaneous repairs, upgrades, replacements, and new construction of storm drain systems and stormwater management (SWM) devices to meet compliance standards of National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits. Work will be performed state-wide, at Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) facilities (Contract No. MA 2803-000-002). The prime contractor shall have at least five (5) years of experience performing drainage and stormwater repair work on drainage infrastructure located along interstate highways and other principal arterial roadways. Work will include cleaning and CCTV video inspection of existing storm drain pipes and drainage structures; repair or removal and proper disposal of existing storm drain pipes and structures; installation of new structures, drainage ditches, swales, and open channels; remedial actions to restore performance of SWM facilities, including grading / excavation, concrete and metal riser structure rehabilitation / replacement, dredging, media replacement, and monitoring well installation; construction of temporary and permanent access roads, roadside slope stabilization, repair, and/or re-vegetation; construction of concrete curbs and gutters, hot mix asphalt curbs, and mountable berms; test pitting of underground utilities; clearing and grubbing vegetated areas for access and construction activities; and, maintenance of traffic (MOT).
The project was advertised in late September 2014 on eMaryland Marketplace website at https://emaryland.buyspeed.com and is expected to begin construction in Spring 2015.
