The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority is proud to develop, support, and promote the highest professional standards and diversity through the entire procurement cycle. It is our pleasure to demonstrate this commitment by inviting you to join us at Back2Business – our inaugural procurement fair on June 20, and learn how to do business with a world-class transit system.
You’ll gain insights from agency leaders and procurement decision makers, plus hear success stories from current contractors. Attendees have the option to join breakout sessions covering law, inventory, and vendor registration overviews, among many others.

WMATA will highlight the steps we’re taking to ensure minority-owned, local, disadvantaged, and woman-owned businesses enjoy visibility and can compete for contracts as prime or subcontractors wherever possible.

Back2Business runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, featuring a packed agenda with informative sessions, plus an exhibitor area with government agencies and contractors, lunch, raffle prizes, and the opportunity to network with existing contractors and partners, along with federal, state and local government agency officials.
If you’re just getting started in contracting, we’ll certify you to work with WMATA(which registers you to bid with other agencies), share upcoming opportunities, and review our Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, Small Business Enterprise, and Small Business and Local Preference programs. Matchmaking opportunities will be available to help prime and subcontractors make this day even more rewarding.
You can learn more at WMATA.com/Back2Business – register before May 26 to enjoy early bird rates!
We want to be a resource and partner to our customers, and a diverse, dynamic network will help us accomplish this. I look forward to seeing you in June, and if you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at metromktg@wmata.com, and please share details of this inaugural event with peers, colleagues, and others in your network.
